The Mid-Atlantic Region Space Science Broker (MARSSB) is a contact for scientists and educators seeking information about Office of Space Science education and public outreach (E/PO) resources.

The MARSSB team can help you navigate your next space science exploration or educational event.

The Office of Space Science education and public outreach system helps scientists turn the results of their space science missions and programs into educational activities. This occurs through two avenues:

  • Regional E/PO broker facilitators serve educators and scientists within their assigned regions by helping to identify opportunities and partnerships between the science and education communities.
  • Educational forums are oriented toward one of the four space science themes. The forums are affiliated with prominent research institutions and are national in scope. Forums support, organize, and disseminate educational and public outreach efforts of space science missions and research related to their theme.

The Center for Educational Technologies® at Wheeling (WV) Jesuit University serves as the Mid-Atlantic Region Space Science Broker. As a broker/facilitator, the center's team performs the following core functions:

  • Increase awareness among educators of NASA space science research and missions.
  • Build connections between educators and NASA space science research and missions.
  • Assist educators and learners in locating space science materials and resources.
  • Assist space scientists in formulating E/PO projects and acquiring education partners.
